Music Together of Belmont - Policies

Make-Up Policy

Three make up classes are available to each family during the Spring session. Make-ups can NOT be rolled over into the following session.

Please click the following link for our online make up scheduler: http://makeups.mainstreetsites.com/makeups.aspx?dmn=1604

Health Policy

We ask that parents keep their children at home if they do not feel well and that they wait until all symptoms of illness vanish or your child is cleared by their pediatrician to return to class after being sick. Please be extra vigilant about this during the flu/H1N1 season and take advantage of our generous make up policy. We are committed to providing a safe environment, but we rely on your help: please wash your and your children’s hands before class, after coughing or sneezing and after diapering, or use hand sanitizer provided in class. Teach your preschoolers to sneeze into their elbow and throw away tissues after a single use, rewashing hands. Please separate ALL instruments that have been mouthed into a provided bin, so we can disinfect them after class with Benefect, a plant-based disinfectant that kills the flu virus, including the H1N1 strain, and is safe to use around children.

Visiting Sibling/Guest Policy

A sibling or another child who is not registered for classes with us may visit once during a session for free. Each additional visit will be $15/class. Please let us know if you are planning to bring siblings/guests! Grown up family members are welcome to visit as well, but please check with us about space availability!

Other Policies

No shoes (grown ups and children), snacks and drinks are allowed in the “circle” area - to keep the floor as clean as possible for our crawlers, to prevent food allergies and out of respect for our landlords. Please discourage your children from bringing their favorite toy to class. Try leaving it in the car, where “it will wait for you/ take a nap”. Toys are distracting for other children in class and prevent your child from having their hands free to explore musical instruments!

Inclement Weather Policy

Music Together of Belmont follows Belmont public schools when it comes to inclement weather policy: If Belmont public schools are open, our classes will run, unless you are notified otherwise by phone/ email. If Belmont public schools are closed, our classes are canceled and will be made up on another day. If public schools are delayed, our morning classes are canceled, but afternoon classes will run, unless you are notified otherwise by phone/ email. Please check the listing of public school closings online or on TV before coming to class and check your phone messages or email (whatever you listed as your preferred way of being reached at short notice on your registration form) or call Lenka at 781-859 8327 when in doubt.
